Test for STEM programmes

Select the right students for science, technology, engineering and mathematics

ITB-Technology is a psychometric subject-specific test for assessing aptitude to study in the field of science, engineering, technology, computer science and mathematics. ITB-Technology consists of six modules, each comprising 15 exercises, which have proven successful in predicting academic success.

Duration: 3 hours and 4 minutes, 90 exercises

Test languages: English and German

Implementation: Online on campus, online-proctored at home or paper-based on campus.

Participation fee:  90 Euro (including VAT), 140 Euro for late registrations.

ITB Technology also offers two short versions (120 minutes) focusing either on natural sciences (ITB Science) or technology.

Proven test modules for the prediction of study success

Mathematics skills

measures school knowledge in mathematics: zeros, sine and cosine, vectors, limits, rules of derivation, integral calculus and growth and decay.

Figural problems

consists of matrices that test reasoning in the figurative domain and general cognitive skills.

Formalizing scientific interrelationships

measures the competency to understand technical and scientific interrelationships with mathematical formulas.

Graphs and tables

measures competence in understanding illustrations and diagrams on various topics in the field of study, critical thinking, quantitative abilities and data literacy.

Analysing Texts

measures text comprehension and critical thinking using subject-related texts from the field of study.

Quantitative problems

measures quantitative skills and assumes a basic knowledge of mathematics.

Only test appointments with free places are displayed in the registration portal. Your results will be available for download in your user account no later than ten days after the test!
